Happy Birthday To You

I have a couple of friends who are blessed to start off the new year with their birthdays so I usually make them a card using a new stamp set from the new Mini catalog or the new Sale-A-Bration catalog. It gets my creative juices going after the holidays. This time I chose the Happy Birthday To You stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. You can get this set for Free with a $50 purchase. Isn’t is beautiful?

The flowers can be colored in with watercolor pencils however I chose the Blends for my card.

For a little sparkle I used the Wink of Stella on the center of the flowers, the little berries and the cake. I also traced the sentiment with the Wink of Stella for another pop of glimmer. You can see the glimmer on the cake and berries better in this picture.

It’s fun to color in the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon with the Blends to match the card.

Feels Like Frost

When I first saw the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, I knew it would be on my “had to buy” list. These beautiful papers don’t need much embellishing for creating any project.

The Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon coordinates nicely with these papers. I decided to also use the silver foil and vellum cardstock to add even more dimension to my card.

The Night of Navy cardstock and ink help to make the card pop. All supplies are listed below for my card.

I have gift certificates available for any occasion.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the holiday with your family and friends.

Let It Snow Suite

The Let It Snow Suite has been one of my favorite suites in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. The Snowman Season bundle is adorable (with sentiments included which I love!). The Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper is both fun and beautiful with the glitter on some of the papers. The Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder can easily be overlooked in the catalog but be sure to check it out! It looks like a sweater knit which coordinates really well with this suite. Here are some ideas for the Let It Snow Suite.

Listed below are the supplies for these projects.

Wrapped In Plaid

This is one of my favorite suites in the Holiday catalog! It’s the Wrapped In Plaid Suite on pages 12-14. This suite includes the  Perfectly Plaid stamp set, the Pine Tree punch and the Wrapped In Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper. You already know I love it when there are words included in the stamp set. This set has outside and inside sentiments! The Wrapped In Plaid papers have gold stripes as part of the different plaids.

Of course there is beautiful Shaded Spruce/Gold Striped Ribbon to tie together this whole suite nicely.

Here is a card I created for a demonstrator swap when the Holiday catalog first came out. I used the gold foil sheets to bring out the gold stripes in the plaids.

I hope you have fun making your Christmas cards. Happy Stamping!

Most Wonderful Time

Don’t you love having lots of options and coordinating supplies when creating a project? I honestly feel like it makes the creating process go more smoothly. The Most Wonderful Time Product Medley has a lot of these coordinating supplies to create beautiful cards this holiday season.

The stamp set contains words and picture elements. The dies cut out some of the stamped images for added dimension on your projects.

Don’t miss that adorable angel die to cut out for the top of the tree! I love the shiny 6 x 6 designer papers. The colors really pop.

And these sparkling papers

There are also self adhesive die cut sheets. Just peel them off and stick them on your project.

There are a couple of embellishment items to finish off your project. There are cute little stars and gold/white tinsel trim.

Here is one card I have made with some of these products. I also used gold foil with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and Wink of Stella on the tree. The Wink of Stella isn’t showing up very well in the picture.

The Most Wonderful Time Product Medley can be found on page 39 of the Holiday catalog. I will be using these products for some of my Christmas cards this year.  All supplies used are listed below.

Deck the Halls

I participated in a demonstrator swap using supplies from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. When I need to create a card, I sometimes start by scrolling through Pinterest looking at layouts or color combinations. This time I pulled out the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper and looked at all the patterns on the different papers. There is beautiful copper foil on some of the patterns. The lined pattern jumped out to me for this card.

The Christmas Gleaming stamp set has this beautiful holly stamp. Mossy Meadow and Real Red Blends were used for coloring the holly.  I did fussy cut them out but they are pretty easy to cut with the paper snips. Remember to move the cardstock not the snips when fussy cutting. The holly and sentiment are on dimensionals.

Shimmery Crystal Effects helps to bring out the berries on the holly. It has just a light sparkle which is perfect for this card.

Let’s not forget about the inside of the card. Another stamped holly and the sentiment finishes this card off nicely.

All supplies used are listed below. It’s never too early to start those Christmas cards!

Gather Together

Here in New England, the leaves are turning on the trees and starting to fall. I like seeing all the colors on the trees especially when the sun comes shining through them. They are just gorgeous! I decided it was a good time to share these cards I created from the Gather Together Bundle.

The Come To Gather Designer Series Paper has beautiful fall coordinating colors to make your card making, scrapbooking and paper craft projects a breeze.

This card uses the Gathered Leaves Dies to cut out the leaf and pumpkin. These dies also have smaller leaves that not only cut out but also emboss the detail on the leaves. So cool right? You can see the embossed leaves on the card below.

A trick for getting the leaves out of the dies that do not have a small hole is to drop them on the table. They pop right out of the dies. You can use these layouts with other stamp sets and papers too. Pull out the stamp set or designer series papers you want to use. Pull out all the coordinating colors and any embellishments you want to use and start playing. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to create a card or scrapbook page when you have the supplies at your finger tips. Supplies used for these cards are listed below. Happy Fall!

Bee Thankful

As much as I don’t like to admit it, it seems summer is leaving us so fall isn’t far behind. With fall comes the start of the new school year.  One of my daughters is a school teacher. When I saw the Bee Happy stamp in the annual catalog, I had to make some thank you cards for all the precious gifts she will be receiving from her students this year.

Isn’t the Bee Thankful stamp the cutest stamp you’ve ever seen? I couldn’t wait to play with it!

I used different color combinations for a variety of looks for this layout. You could use many different designer papers also but I choose the 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers on page 168 of the annual catalog. There are four different designs on these papers all wonderful for a background on your project. Supplies are listed below.

Inspiring Iris

The Inspiring Iris set was on my must have list when the new catalog came out in June. I love the instant gratification of 2-step stamping. For 2-step stamping, stamp the outline in black or a darker ink then stamp the color inside the lines. It makes the card come together very quickly.

Just like my last post you can see here, I made my own designer paper by randomly stamping the flowers, leaves and words. Make sure you also stamp off the edge of the paper to make it more interesting. This also helps to balance out the design.

The center of the flower is a small circle. It works perfectly for filling in small areas and giving more interest to the design.

Turning the card changes the design also. It’s a nice change to alternate which way the card opens by either turning it or cutting your cardstock opposite of your normal cut. You can use a soft pattern or an embossing folder behind the stamped layer. Add an embellishment like a ribbon and a sentiment and your card is complete!

Seaside Notions

I’m fortunate to spend time at a little place in Narragansett Bay during the nicer months. I love being near the water, listening to the waves hit the shore and watching the ships and boats in the bay. So it seemed only right to play with the Seaside Notions stamp set while I was here.

I wanted to make my own background paper with this set. I randomly stamped the images with Basic Gray then colored areas with the Blends markers. As a result, the cards look great with any cardstock that coordinates with the Blends colors used. I also colored the white ribbon with the Blends marker to match the card. This card uses Calypso Coral cardstock.

The card below used So Saffron. The stamped background is the very same as the card above. The ribbon was colored with the So Saffron Blends marker.

Here is another card using Seaside Notions with more of a neutral tone. I sponged and roughed up the edges on the cardstock layers. The seahorse was stamped and cut out. I had sponged the color lightly on the seahorse and used dimensionals.

Here are a few more ideas to spur on your creativity.
