Gather Together

Here in New England, the leaves are turning on the trees and starting to fall. I like seeing all the colors on the trees especially when the sun comes shining through them. They are just gorgeous! I decided it was a good time to share these cards I created from the Gather Together Bundle.

The Come To Gather Designer Series Paper has beautiful fall coordinating colors to make your card making, scrapbooking and paper craft projects a breeze.

This card uses the Gathered Leaves Dies to cut out the leaf and pumpkin. These dies also have smaller leaves that not only cut out but also emboss the detail on the leaves. So cool right? You can see the embossed leaves on the card below.

A trick for getting the leaves out of the dies that do not have a small hole is to drop them on the table. They pop right out of the dies. You can use these layouts with other stamp sets and papers too. Pull out the stamp set or designer series papers you want to use. Pull out all the coordinating colors and any embellishments you want to use and start playing. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to create a card or scrapbook page when you have the supplies at your finger tips. Supplies used for these cards are listed below. Happy Fall!

Bee Thankful

As much as I don’t like to admit it, it seems summer is leaving us so fall isn’t far behind. With fall comes the start of the new school year.  One of my daughters is a school teacher. When I saw the Bee Happy stamp in the annual catalog, I had to make some thank you cards for all the precious gifts she will be receiving from her students this year.

Isn’t the Bee Thankful stamp the cutest stamp you’ve ever seen? I couldn’t wait to play with it!

I used different color combinations for a variety of looks for this layout. You could use many different designer papers also but I choose the 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers on page 168 of the annual catalog. There are four different designs on these papers all wonderful for a background on your project. Supplies are listed below.

Inspiring Iris

The Inspiring Iris set was on my must have list when the new catalog came out in June. I love the instant gratification of 2-step stamping. For 2-step stamping, stamp the outline in black or a darker ink then stamp the color inside the lines. It makes the card come together very quickly.

Just like my last post you can see here, I made my own designer paper by randomly stamping the flowers, leaves and words. Make sure you also stamp off the edge of the paper to make it more interesting. This also helps to balance out the design.

The center of the flower is a small circle. It works perfectly for filling in small areas and giving more interest to the design.

Turning the card changes the design also. It’s a nice change to alternate which way the card opens by either turning it or cutting your cardstock opposite of your normal cut. You can use a soft pattern or an embossing folder behind the stamped layer. Add an embellishment like a ribbon and a sentiment and your card is complete!

Seaside Notions

I’m fortunate to spend time at a little place in Narragansett Bay during the nicer months. I love being near the water, listening to the waves hit the shore and watching the ships and boats in the bay. So it seemed only right to play with the Seaside Notions stamp set while I was here.

I wanted to make my own background paper with this set. I randomly stamped the images with Basic Gray then colored areas with the Blends markers. As a result, the cards look great with any cardstock that coordinates with the Blends colors used. I also colored the white ribbon with the Blends marker to match the card. This card uses Calypso Coral cardstock.

The card below used So Saffron. The stamped background is the very same as the card above. The ribbon was colored with the So Saffron Blends marker.

Here is another card using Seaside Notions with more of a neutral tone. I sponged and roughed up the edges on the cardstock layers. The seahorse was stamped and cut out. I had sponged the color lightly on the seahorse and used dimensionals.

Here are a few more ideas to spur on your creativity.

There is so much you can do with this set and there are great sentiment stamps included! Below are the supplies used for my card samples. Don’t forget to use your Bonus Coupons earned in July!

Open House 2019

When the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog comes out in June, it’s time for Open House! A lot of planning and preparation goes into those few hours of fun such as what will we do for make & takes, the display table samples and ideas, the door prizes and raffle basket and of course the refreshments. The retired table is always a hot spot as well.

I couldn’t do it all without help from my downline girls, friends and family. I was blessed to have my daughter Abby helping this year as well. We all work together to make Open House a successful and fun time for all my customers.

I include a thank you card in the orders when they come in. I am very grateful for my customers and their support of my business. I used the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack and the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards and Envelopes for the thank you cards.

These card packs make card making a breeze. You can mix and match the cards, use coordinating cardstock or ribbons and you can make many cards from one card pack. Check out all the pieces still left after making a bunch of thank you cards. There are many more cards that can be made from the pieces left over from my card making.

Don’t forget to save your Bonus Codes if you placed a $50 order during the month of July. You can spend them In August. You still have until July 31 to earn more Bonus Codes. Each code is worth $5 off your order in August.

I look forward to stamping with you soon at a workshop or class. Why not schedule a workshop so you can earn free merchandise from the new catalog. Contact me today to book your date!

Beautiful Friendship

When you get the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog in your hands, what is the first thing you look for?  Usually, I go to the back and look at all the new accessories. This year, however, looking through the new catalog, I fell in love with a bunch of new stamp sets. The Beautiful Friendship stamp set really stood out to me. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and start playing! I needed a few thank you cards so this is the card I created.

The main card is Rococo Rose with a layer of Smoky Slate. First I stamped the Birch stamp on a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  Doesn’t the Birch background stamp make the perfect layer (stamped with Smoky Slate) behind the flowers from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set?  Then I stamped the Beautiful Friendship flower layer with Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Pear Pizzaz and Rich Razzleberry (for the center of the roses and stamped off once for the floral spray randomly stamped to fill in). The sentiment is from the set Parcels & Petals (another favorite! but more on this set later). The Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon finishes this card off just right don’t you think? I stamped the bottom corner of the envelope with the flowers because a stamped envelope is a nice way to finish off your cards.

This Beautiful Friendship stamp set has wonderful detail which makes it very easy to make beautiful cards. Pick your three colors and start creating! All supplies to make the card is listed below.

DON”T FORGET!!! Open House is June 27 from 5-8 pm. Come have a fun night out with friends. Get the new catalog, see samples and new products. There will be 2 make & takes, door prizes and a raffle basket worth $100.00  RSVP by June 22 to or respond to the event on my Facebook page Stamping With Sheila. I hope to see you there!
