The Inspiring Iris set was on my must have list when the new catalog came out in June. I love the instant gratification of 2-step stamping. For 2-step stamping, stamp the outline in black or a darker ink then stamp the color inside the lines. It makes the card come together very quickly.
Just like my last post you can see here, I made my own designer paper by randomly stamping the flowers, leaves and words. Make sure you also stamp off the edge of the paper to make it more interesting. This also helps to balance out the design.
The center of the flower is a small circle. It works perfectly for filling in small areas and giving more interest to the design.
Turning the card changes the design also. It’s a nice change to alternate which way the card opens by either turning it or cutting your cardstock opposite of your normal cut. You can use a soft pattern or an embossing folder behind the stamped layer. Add an embellishment like a ribbon and a sentiment and your card is complete!
